Amazon.com, the largest Internet retailer, yesterday started selling new and refurbished computers on its Web site.
Amazon is selling desktop and notebook computers from Apple Computer, Compaq Computer, Hewlett-Packard, International Business Machines and Toshiba, and related software and hardware.
The online computer store also offers sales assistance, and side-by-side comparisons of price, speed and other features.
Prices for new PCs listed on the site include $799.99 for the Compaq Presario 5102US desktop, $1,699 for a Toshiba Satellite notebook computer and $2,499 for the Apple Power Mac Desktop.
