In the early fall of 1970 I visited Hong Kong, which was then still a colony of the British Commonwealth of Nations.
As our tour bus arrived at a compound for Chinese refugees from Red China, we were immediately inundated by swarms of clean but skinny kids screaming the only American word of any importance to them: "Money! Money! Money!" We were advised to ignore them.
