Oct. 9--U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill brought his road tour to Houston on Tuesday, saying the economy is not as sick as people think.
In an interview, O'Neill said we're on "a bumpy road to recovery." While the markets remain turbulent and technology stocks continue to slide, the overall economy is still expected to grow 3 percent this year.
"I think the aspects of our economy that are really quite good are getting no attention at all," he said. "People are getting a steady diet of the negative instead of a balanced view."
