OAKLAND, Calif. _ Almost 20 years ago, the Milwaukee Bucks retired Brian Winters' number.
Winters was only hoping the Bucks could help retire his five-game losing streak Tuesday night.
As the Golden State interim coach, Winters, 49, has struggled since replacing the fired Dave Cowens on Dec. 15. Of the 11 games he had coached before playing the Bucks at the Arena in Oakland, Winters had lost seven. Nine of those games were played without his starting center, Erick Dampier, who missed his 10th straight Tuesday night with a hyperextended left knee.
