Poland's Social Security Office (ZUS) will owe private pension funds PLN 8-9 bln at year-end
Warsaw. October 9. INTERFAX-EUROPE - Polish private pension fund officials told a Wednesday industry conference that the country's Social Security Office (ZUS) will owe some PLN 8 bln-9 bln at the end of the year to the 17 licensed pension funds working in the reformed pension system.
ZUS, which is obliged to transfer a portion of the premiums it receives from Polish citizens to pension funds, does not transfer all the funds it should, largely for technical-computer system problems. Estimates put the amount it owes now at some PLN 6.5 bln.
