DESIGN, INC. IN BLACK FOR NINE MONTHS
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (FNS) -- Designs, Inc., reported profits soared more than twofold in the third quarter returning the company to profitability in the nine months.
For the quarter ended Oct. 27, the retailer, which only sells Levi Strauss & Co. merchandise, earned $1,628,000, or 33 cents per share, up from $515,000, or 10 cents, a year ago. Results were slightly above the company's estimate of early November. At that time, the company said it expected 30 cents per share.
