Oct. 7--RUTHERFORD, Calif.--As the guests swallowed, the Napa Valley tasting room hostess intoned, "It's bold, aggressive, branchy. The great peppery finish really hits you in the back of the throat."
She wasn't talking about some full-bodied zinfandel, though. This was olive oil -- a staggering selection of it, poured into small crocks, with crusts of bread for dipping.
