Article: 250 Jobs to Be Added to Jamestown, N.Y., Engine Plant.

Oct. 10--Cummins Inc. plans to add about 250 jobs at its engine plant in Jamestown by the end of January -- and as many as 500 over the next three years -- after consolidating all of its heavy-duty engine assembly and testing work to the Southern Tier.

The announcement of the $9 million project Wednesday not only will increase the Jamestown plant's work force from its current 750 to around 1,000 within months, but it also helps solidify its future even as Cummins moves to cut costs amid a heavy-duty engine market that has been hampered by a soft economy and more ...
