Medical leave law will wreak havoc, federation claims
Family and medical leave legislation requiring companies with 50 or more employees to provide 12 weeks of non-paid leave will devastate the small business sector, according to the National Federation of Independent Business.
The proposal, passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on May 9, is awaiting action in the Senate.
The independent business association claims passage of the legislation will result in fewer jobs, decreased productivity and higher operating costs for the small business owners.
