The lack of "robust" style indices has deterred institutional investors in Europe from awarding specific growth and value equity mandates, according to Michael Schoeck, head of global active equities at State Street Global Advisors in Boston.
He says: "Although MSCI is working towards the introduction of a new beefed- up set of style indices, we are not going to see the US experience replicated in Europe very quickly."
