CHAMPAIGN - The early return of defensive end Phillip Daniels and cornerback R.W. McQuarters from injuries did nothing to help a Bears defense that still couldn't rush the passer or cover receivers downfield.
Monday night's 34-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers was the Bears' third straight, leaving the losers at 2-3 and trailing the 4-1 winners by 2 games in the NFC North.
For most of the game, Packers quarterback Brett Favre made it look easy as he dissected the Bears underneath their coverage, along with an occasional deep pass that usually found an uncovered target in stride with uncanny accuracy. ...
