Oct. 9--A plan to move ahead with a new Fresno and Clovis sewage treatment plant was given partial support Tuesday by Fresno City Council members, but some of the more contentious issues were shelved for now.
Perhaps the most controversial component of the plan would have offered Clovis operational control of the new plant. That was opposed in a 4-3 vote.
"We specifically establish committees to deal with these issues," Fresno City Council President Henry Perea said.
