DETROIT -- The Detroit Free Press announced Tuesday that Thom Fladung is returning to the Free Press newsroom as its managing editor.
Fladung, 42, has been managing editor of the Akron Beacon Journal for the past two years. From 1994 until 2000, he worked in a variety of editing jobs at the Free Press.
As the Free Press' managing editor, Fladung will be responsible for putting out each day's newspaper. Michigan's oldest newspaper, the Free Press has a newsroom staff of more than 300 and a daily circulation of 364,853.
