Sep. 13--How best to describe the 2002 Volkswagen Passat W8 in one word? Tight. Tight as in incredibly tight handling.
Tight as in so tightly put together that every piece, every part fits seamlessly with everything else -- even the trunk is so solid that it sounds and feels like lead when you open and close it.
But most of all, "tight" as in "cool." But this cool comes at a price -- $38,000 and up -- and I'm not sure it's worth it.
With an 8-cylinder engine, there's a lot more power, but the car is heavier than other Passats -- noticeably so when ...
