As many as 45,000 retail buyers are expected to shop for gifts and decorative accessories during New York's market week in mid-August. The star attraction is the semiannual N.Y. Intl. Gift Fair, featuring about 2,200 temporary exhibitors who will occupy almost a half-million sq. ft. of booth space at the Javits Convention Ctr. and the Passenger Ship Terminal, Aug. 12-16, with some divisions open Aug. 11-15.
New York's principal permanent showroom buildings - the Gift Bldg. at 225 Fifth Ave., The Merchandise Mart at 41 Madison Ave., and the Marketcenter at 230 Fifth Ave., as well as other Fifth Ave., E. 26th St. and nearby locations - will all participate in the ...
