Oct. 12--Dimiter Petrov pulled his air brake and parked his container truck atop a scale at the Port of Portland's Terminal 6 on Friday, surprised to be making his second delivery of the day.
Petrov, driving for Imperial Trucking of Portland, expected a truck logjam and a sluggish work force on the first day exporters could truck cargo to the Port since a 12-day lockout crippled commerce along the West Coast. Instead, at 10:15 a.m., he was back in line.
"Considering all the time they've been off," said Petrov, "it could've been a lot worse."
