LOS ANGELES -- One hundred domestic violence shelters throughout California are receiving at least $1,000 today thanks to an unprecedented grant made by the Blue Shield of California Foundation. The announcement was made today at a press conference in Los Angeles that the Foundation, in keeping with its long-standing commitment to reduce and prevent domestic violence, will distribute nearly $140,000 in contributions to every domestic violence shelter that receives state funds.
