Here's one right out of Seinfeld. Or the Twilight Zone. Seems a burglar in Fairfield, Ill., stole $1,000 in jewelry--and made his getaway on a lawn mower. That's right, folks. Fairfield Detective Sgt. Steven Sons says witnesses saw a man leaving a burglarized home on a red lawn mower. So, how is it that a guy riding a lawn mower--with top speeds of maybe 5 mph--managed to elude cops? Seems it's not particularly odd to see folks tooling around on lawn mowers in Fairfield, a town of 5,200 some 30 miles west of the Indiana border. And the burglar was long gone by ...
