The Institute for Supply Management (formerly the National Association of Purchasing Managers) has long surveyed its membership to determine marketplace conditions that affect supply and pricing from vendor companies. These surveys have achieved prominence as legitimate forecasters of market trends. On May 7th ISM published its 63rd semiannual economic forecast.
Of significance to machine tool distributors and builders, the forecast presents a far more encouraging picture of the future for the general economy and for manufacturers.
