THE ``get out the vote'' in November drive is now firing on all cylinders.

In the wake of the Sept. 11 surge in patriotic feelings, the latest attempt to browbeat voters into exercising their franchise is the claim that failure to vote constitutes a failure of patriotism. But, as with so many such sound-bite arguments, it reflects seriously flawed logic. For instance:
