CORRECTION (ran 10/16/02): King County has 814 and Lane County 68 people per square mile. An incorrect geographic area for the two numbers was used in Bob Welch's column Tuesday.
SEATTLE - Somewhere, amid Krispy Kreme Doughnuts' 60-person line, 20-minute wait and 25-car drive-through, I realized this was one of those cost-to-benefits moments that ultimately help people decide whether to live in the big city.
The benefit? A doughnut so good that I walked in expecting to buy four and, after a sample, walked out with 30. The cost? Time. Too much time.
