Wanted: A New Bauhaus
A few weeks ago there was an all-too-brief discussion, at the International Design Center in New York, about the quality of German design--past, present, and probable future. Now that West Germany has gulped down East Germany (including the partly restored remains of the Dessau Bauhaus), can a Modern Design Renaissance in Central Europe be far behind?
