Aapico Hitech became the first Malaysian firm to list in Thailand on 17 October 2002. Poor market sentiment and profit-taking caused the firm's shares to shed 3.2 per cent on their first day of trade. Investors bought 10 million shares in the automotive supplies group, at an offer price of 25 baht ($US0.57 each). Market insiders had anticipated a stronger debut.
