Bob Newcomb eats lunch at a couple of places down the road from his Verona construction business: A Michael's Frozen Custard shop, and a Subway, two modest eateries located pretty much across the street from each other.
One day he noticed that the workers at the custard shop tended to eat food from their own shop, and the workers at the sub shop tended to eat submarine sandwiches for lunch. Never the staffs did meet.
