I have been a recreational fisherman since 1971. I fished before creel limits and size limits (except stripers) and have seen a lot of players in my sport. I am currently tied up on the Maurice River, which is a port that serves both commercial and recreational fisherman.
Weakfish are the primary target for us recreational fishermen, and any changes in our current regs will be watched closely. Like [New Jersey gillnetter] Charles Law in your September column for the Northeast [Market Report, p. 18], I support any measure that will not only preserve this resource but will also build the biomass.
