It took singer/songwriter Johnny Dowd nearly 50 years to finally cut his debut album. Titled "Wrong Side of Memphis," the recording was released to much fanfare, with critics and fans alike stunned by Dowd's singular style, convincing edge and, most of all, seasoned delivery.
It is obvious now that Dowd has had a lifetime's worth of music welling inside him. In the four years that have followed "Wrong Side of Memphis," Dowd has recorded three more full-lengths and a single for Sub Pop.
