My friend Charlene is one of those parents that schools either love or hate - an always-in-your-face parent who tries to keep tabs on every aspect of her 11-year-old daughter's educational life.
Charlene's passion is parent involvement, and this year she is the vice-president of the parent-teacher-student organization at her daughter's middle school in Charlotte, N.C.
