Nazer Says Opec Leaders to Discuss Quotas at Vienna
NEW YORK - Saudi Arabian oil minister Hisham Nazer said Opec's 13 oil ministers may discuss output quotas when they meet in Vienna on March 16, but he added, "There will be no decisions made (on abandoning them) in Vienna. It's just a get-together."
Nazer made the statement during a speech here Friday at New York University at a meeting sponsored by the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce.
Nazer's statements are consistent with remarks made Friday by Opec Secretary General Subroto, who spoke at a news conference in Vienna. Subroto also ruled out any decision on abandoning output quotas.
