Oct. 21--SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif.--During his more than 30 years in the heavy machinery moving business, Larry Beard, the founder and chief executive officer of South El Monte-based Coast Machinery Movers, has seen a lot of change.
Clients' attitudes about safety requirements have changed.
"There's a lot of consideration for safety," Beard said. "What is your record? How many Workman's Comp claims? Do your guys wear hard hats and safety glasses?" The competition -- there's a lot more of it -- has changed.
