TOKYO, Oct 22 Asia Pulse - Seiko Watch Corp. plans to reduce the number of wristwatch brands that it sells from the current 20 or so to around a dozen by fiscal 2005.

In addition, the company will limit the number of new models that it introduces each year to 300, down from the current 500.

Seiko Watch faces stiff competition in Japan from Swiss and Chinese watchmakers, and aims to improve efficiency in both manufacturing and sales by concentrating its efforts.
