The first question to answer is whether there should even be a nonwovens industry in the year 2000. Why doesn't the business just incorporate itself into the general textiles or paper or plastics industries and let it go at that? Everyone has always said nonwovens was a lousy name anyway.

And then again, will the nonwovens industry even exist as a business in the year 2000? These are some of the questions that must be answered if the industry can take a crystal ball look at its future.
