MARTIN Amis has been causing offence to the Muslims, which is a pretty easy thing to do these days.
At an Orange Word Literary Event (something, I am reliably informed, which has nothing to do with the Orange Lodge) he read an extract from his work in progress which "addresses the impact of September 11 on the Western world".
The fiction described a man in a cocktail bar who is, for no apparent reason, attacked and knocked to the ground.
