South Africa Moves to Export Oil Products
South Africa's oil industry is gearing up to take advantage of the removal of the U.N.'s voluntary embargo on oil sales to South Africa in order to export oil products to the "frontline states" until recently committed to its downfall.
The European Community was ready to lift restrictions on investments and trade at the beginning of 1991, but may heed an appeal by Nelson Mandela to delay temporarily removing the EC embargo until after South Africa's parliament reconvenes in early February and repeals the apartheid laws to his satisfaction.
