When the new chief of staff of the Yugoslav army went to NATO headquarters in Belgium to ask what kind of reforms would be needed to start the process to join the alliance, NATO Secretary-General George Robertson told them to take a look at Slovakia as "an exemplary candidate."
The Slovak military, which confidently expects the formal invitation to join at next month's NATO summit in Prague, is already bone of the most international forces on Earth.
