Terra Lycos S.A. fired 21 percent of its U.S. employees yesterday, as the Internet network provider attempts to streamline operations and move toward more subscription-based Web sites and content.
Of the 174 job cuts, 112 hit the Madrid, Spain-based company's U.S. headquarters in Waltham, where 388 employees remain.
"We are realigning our U.S. organization to streamline the business and focus on the highest-priority, highest-impact products to help us achieve our overall long-term financial goals," spokeswoman Billee Howard said.
