SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco Giants are on the verge of shocking the monkey.
Jeff Kent snapped out of a series-long slump by going 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run home runs and four runs scored to lead the Giants to a 16-4 drubbing of the Anaheim Angels that moved the National League champions to within one win of capturing their first World Series title since 1954.
San Francisco leads the best-of-seven series, 3-2, and can end the fifth-longest World Series championship drought tomorrow, when play resumes at the home of the rally monkey, Anaheim's Edison Field. Only the Chicago Cubs (1908), Chicago White Sox (1917), ...
