In the space of one week, we found two quite young hedgehogs, and both were lying dead on the side of the road about a kilometre from each other. Could these hedgehogs have been sisters or brothers, we wondered.
Then, three days ago a much larger hedgehog turned up in our garden at Finaghy. I caught him, lifted him, and tried to see if it was male or female. I also wanted to see if it was fully grown. The result of my studies was negligible, for the animal was uncooperative.
