Coldwell Banker lays off workers, refocuses strategy
LOS ANGELES (UPI) - Coldwell Banker Commercial Services, the nation's largest commercial real estate firm, laid off 90 employees last week as part of the reorganization of its property management unit.
Coldwell said the layoffs, which represented about 1.8 percent of its 5,000 employees, were based on performance, rather than seniority.
The reorganization, announced earlier this month, involves the elimination of smaller, non-institutional properties from the Coldwell's management services unit. Coldwell said it made the move so that the unit could concentrate on managing larger properties.
