Hybrid trucks, particularly those combining diesel engines and electric motors, will take center stage at the 2002 Tokyo Motor Show, which opens to the public on Oct. 30.
The Tokyo show alternates between passenger cars in odd-numbered years and commercial vehicles in even-numbered years. This is the year for trucks.
Handicapped-accessible trucks and buses, and other vehicles incorporating the latest in information technology, also will be featured, along with trucks that are powered by compressed natural gas.
