BRIAN BORU galloped to Derby favouritism with a gutsy victory in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster yesterday.
He is quoted as short as 14-1 (from 25) by William Hill to emulate stable companion High Chaparral and go on from success in the final Group 1 race of the season to land the premier Classic.
The colt, a 16-1 chance for Epsom with Coral and the Tote but 20-1 with Victor Chandler, capped a memorable autumn for his jockey Kevin Darley, who was winning his fourth Group or Grade 1 prize in five weeks.
