PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local AIRPORT AUTHORITY recently awarded a contract to DHL INTERNATIONAL (HONG KONG) LTD., a subsidiary of US-based DHL WORLDWIDE EXPRESS INC. (DHL), for the construction of a new dedicated express-cargo terminal (ECT) at the Chek Lap Kok International Airport. According to the terms of the award, DHL will be responsible for developing, building and operating the terminal. And, the concession is expected to last for 15 years. The airport for that matter, with a yearly throughput of 2.28 million tons of air cargo is considered to be the world's busiest.
