ASSISTANT TREASURER SENATOR Helen Coonan has advanced the Federal Government's choice of superannuation funds push, claiming our system would not experience thee problems which have emerged in foreign markets.
Addressing an Australian Banking & Finance newsmagazine lecture in Sydney, Senator Coonan highlighted the success of choice in the Western Australian market during the past four years while describing superannuation as one of the biggest challenges facing the nation.
"It has been a real success," she said. "There is no evidence of the mis-selling or churning of accounts that occurred in the UK.
