MEXICO CITY, Oct 17, 2002 (Mexico Analytica/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Walmex, the Mexican subsidiary of Wal-Mart, already contributes around 25% of its parent company's international sales and surpasses its profit margins and now results for the third quarter of 2002 show that net profits have risen 10.11% year-on-year, while net sales rose 14.82% in the same period.Walmex's net sales for July-September climbed to 72.33 billion pesos (US$7.23 billion) from the 62.99 billion pesos (US$6.30 billion) sold in the same period of 2001, a gain of some 14.82%.
