Boston Symphony Orchestra, with Anne-Sophie Mutter, conducted by Andre Previn, at Symphony Hall, Saturday night.
Two things have happened since the March premiere of Andre Previn's Violin Concerto with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall. One, Previn and the violinist he wrote the concerto for, Anne-Sophie Mutter, got married. Two, the German recording company Deutsche Grammophon decided to record the 40-minute BSO commission at the site and with the musicians of its premiere for release on CD.
So it was that a special, one-night-only repeat performance of the work was scheduled for a live recording Saturday night. ...
