ANAHEIM, Calif. - Dusty Baker said Peter Magowan's reluctance to talk to him about a new contract for next season spoke volumes on whether or not the San Francisco owner had any plans of keeping the Giants manager around.
"If somebody wanted me back, you wouldn't wait until the last minute to tell them," said Baker, who has managed the Giants for the last 10 seasons.
Magowan's relationship with Baker became so strained this season that the pair no longer talk. The owner said last week it might be time to get together and "clear the air," but Baker said he wanted no part of such a meeting because Magowan was the one who ...
