NEW YORK & DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 23, 2002

The National Hockey League and HDNet announced today the initial slate of NHL in HD broadcasts as part of a 65-game high definition television (HDTV) 2002-03 schedule. The NHL in HD coverage on HDNet begins Sunday, Oct. 27 at 9 p.m. (ET) with the Colorado Avalanche hosting the Minnesota Wild.

"Fans who watched last year's NHL games on HDNet have confirmed that HDTV captures all the excitement of NHL action," said Jon Litner, NHL Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
