Oct. 27--When luminaries of hemispheric trade head to Ecuador for a summit this week, Miami will play host at a modest breakfast for 100 people, while Atlanta will lay out the red carpet -- lunch for 1,000 participants in the Americas Business Forum.
Miami, in its quest to land the headquarters of a still-being-negotiated Free Trade Area of the Americas, has a head start, the backing of the Bush administration -- and location. But Atlanta, a late contender, has the cash.
