LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. (TPNA) and Eli Lilly and Company announced that ACTOS(R) (pioglitazone HCl) now leads the class of drugs that reduce insulin resistance both in new prescriptions and total overall prescriptions. Since its introduction in August 1999, more than 2.9 million patients have used ACTOS.
ACTOS is also the leading insulin resistance reducer among U.S. endocrinologists in total prescriptions and, since February 2000, endocrinologists have been writing more new prescriptions for ACTOS than any other drug in the class.
