THE STAR

- Robert Carlson, vice-president and senior board member of The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) the biggest US public pension fund -- intends to ask the funds board to review its decision to pull its equity investments out of Malaysia at its next evaluation early next year.

- Malaysia is among a few Asian economies that are likely to perform better than their regional peers, should the US economy suffer a double dip recession as a result of a US-led war on Iraq sometime this or early next year, according to global investment bank ING Barings.
