Truth of the matter is, Robert Redford could easily have said this in real life. He has spent most of his career avoiding the social scene and attending to his work as an actor, director, producer and, for the past several years, founder and head of the Sundance Film Festival, the Sundance Institute and the Utah resort that shares their name. Like his friend and two-time costar Paul Newman, Redford has led a life fairly free of gossip and scandal--remarkable for a man who has been, reluctantly, in the public eye for the better part of his sixty-five years. This is not merely an achievement, it is a miracle.
